Front Porch to Side Wraparound Deck Renovation, Dedham MA

A front entry should do more than get you through the door — it should give a home some presence. That was the goal for this Dedham renovation, where we redesigned an aging front porch and extended it into a full wraparound deck along the side of the house, creating one continuous outdoor space instead of two disconnected areas.

We rebuilt the structure from the framing up, squaring off the layout so the transition from the front porch to the side deck feels seamless rather than tacked on. New railings, a fresh deck surface, and clean sightlines to the street tie the whole space together, giving the homeowners a spot to sit out front, and a private wraparound section that opens up options for how they use the side yard. The result is a porch and deck combination that adds real curb appeal while giving the home a lot more usable outdoor square footage.
